Rosa Maria Martelo, Universidade do Porto

Rosa Maria Martelo is Associate Professor with "Agregação" at Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto (FLUP), where she took her Ph.D. on Portuguese Literature in 1996 with a thesis on the poetic work of Carlos de Oliveira. She has been teaching at FLUP since 1985. She is an Integrate Researcher at Instituto de Literatura Comparada Margarida Losa (R&D Unit of the Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia) and is currently a member of the Board and the research leader of Intermedialities Group. Her main areas of research are Modern and Contemporary Portuguese Literature, Modern and Contemporary Poetry and Poetics, Comparative Literature, Interart Studies, Inter- and Transmediality. Her latest work focus on the study of contemporary poetry and interart relations (Poetry and Cinema; Poetry and Fine Arts) and she has supervised several MA and Ph.D. dissertations in these areas. She coordinates, with Paulo de Medeiros (University of Warwick), the International Network LyraCompoetics, dedicated to the study of modern and contemporary poetics, and the online journal ELYRA, dedicated to the study of modern and contemporary poetics.
